ENERGY EFFICIENT BUILDINGS

CONSERVATION WITH DONOVAN ENERGY

Donovan Energy leverages best-in-class, proven technologies, solutions, and strategies to create more energy efficient buildings. Through the application of these technologies, we can reduce a building’s energy consumption and demand by over 50%.

LIGHTING, HVAC & BUILDING ENVELOPE IMPROVEMENTS TO SAVE YOU MONEY

An investment in upgraded, energy efficient building electric and mechanical systems generates immediate cash savings. Donovan Energy’s Building Efficiency Solutions include lighting, HVAC, and building envelope efficiency solutions, all of which are specifically designed to reduce energy consumption and facility operating costs.

Our comprehensive process begins with an exhaustive “current state” facility energy assessment. We then use this data to develop a 10-year financial model and solution roadmap complete with customized material and system recommendations. Our team of energy efficient buildings experts will identify, prioritize, and engineer solutions that are customized to meet your facility’s needs. This includes the specification of products, cost estimation, financial modeling, rebate administration, installation, recycling, project financing and sustainability reporting.

HVAC

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems consist of air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, furnaces, rooftop units, and chillers, as well as associated air handlers, ductwork, and water and steam piping. Heating and cooling are the largest sources of energy consumption in the residential and commercial building sectors, accounting for roughly 40% in commercial buildings. Because of this, even small performance improvements can generate substantial cost savings.

LIGHTING

Lighting accounts for 20% of energy use in commercial buildings, and many businesses experience high energy bills because of outdated and inefficient lighting. Light emitting diode (LED) technology offers savings from both efficiency and durability. Installing efficient lighting is one of the lowest cost/fastest payoff energy efficiency improvements available today.

BUILDING ENVELOPE

A building’s envelope includes everything that separates a building’s interior from the exterior: external walls, insulation, windows, and roofing. Think of it like a building’s skin. Advanced building envelope materials can reduce building energy use and costs by lowering heating and cooling loads, which account for roughly 40% in commercial buildings. Additionally, air-sealing systems and efficient windows oftentimes have payback periods of less than five years.
